About Me

I'm Dr. Allison Rumelt, a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and self-understanding. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, parenting concerns, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, I strive to create a supportive, collaborative space where meaningful change can occur.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with additional specialized training in the treatment of anxiety disorders. I have particular expertise working with adolescents and young adults as they navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, relationships, identity development, and increasing independence.

I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University and completed advanced training at several leading institutions, including the Center for Anxiety, Northwell Health's Zucker Hillside Hospital, and Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants, where I later served as a staff psychologist and team member within the SAGE program for young adults.

Above all, I believe that effective therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. My style is warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental, and I work closely with each client to understand their unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical tools to help you move forward.
